Terms of use

Short and in plain language, because a set of free browser tools does not need ten pages of clauses.

Last updated

1. The service

QRCodeDojo provides free QR Code generators that run entirely in your web browser. There are no accounts, no subscriptions and no payment. We may change, add or remove tools at any time. Codes you have already generated and saved are unaffected by anything we do, because they contain your data rather than a link to us.

2. The codes you make are yours

Any QR Code you generate here is yours to use for any lawful purpose, commercial or otherwise. No attribution is required, no licence fee applies, and there is no restriction on volume, print run or resale of materials containing the codes.

3. No warranty

The tools are provided “as is”. We make no guarantee that a generated code will scan on every device, in every condition, at every size, or that it will remain readable after printing, laminating, folding, curving or weathering.

Our print-size, contrast and logo checks are models with stated assumptions, published on the relevant pages so you can judge them. They are planning tools, not measurements, and they do not replace scanning a real printed proof on real devices before a print run. We say this on every page that gives a verdict, and we mean it here too.

4. Your content and your responsibility

You are responsible for what you encode and where you display it. In particular:

  • Do not use these tools to create codes that lead to malware, phishing, fraud or illegal content.
  • Do not place codes over other organisations' codes, signage or payment terminals.
  • Do not encode data you have no right to distribute, including other people's contact details without their consent.
  • Check any code before you print it, distribute it, or place it in public.

We cannot enforce any of this — everything happens in your browser and we never see what you make. That makes it entirely your responsibility.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, QRCodeDojo is not liable for any loss arising from use of these tools. That explicitly includes the cost of reprinting materials whose codes do not scan, lost business from a code that failed in the field, and any consequence of a code leading somewhere you did not intend. The service is free and provided in good faith; the verification step before printing is yours.

6. Third-party services

Some tools generate links to services we have nothing to do with — WhatsApp, Telegram, Google, Apple Maps and others. We do not control those services, their availability, their link formats or their terms. If one of them changes how its links work, codes you have already printed may be affected, and that is outside our control.

7. Trademarks

“QR Code” is a registered trademark of Denso Wave Incorporated, who have never charged for use of the standard. Other product and company names mentioned on this site belong to their respective owners, and their appearance here does not imply any endorsement or affiliation.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
